World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive year.

The 27-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 match record, and earned a record £11m in earnings.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
